Attorney Brad Smith Chambers from BradSmithChambers[.]com

[Published 7/15/24] We’ve published articles about many fake businesses and professionals over the past decade. The overwhelming majority of these phoney-baloneys don’t last more than a couple of years online before they disappear or are taken down. However, BradSmithChambers[.]com is an exception to that norm.  This fake attorney’s domain was registered on September 19, 2021 and, according to the WHOIS record of 7/14/2024, is hosted on a server in Helsinki, Finland. Moreover, the scammer posing as this attorney also purchased the domain BradSmithChambers[.]org. This domain is even older, registered on April 14, 2020. (As of 7/14/2024 there is no website at this DOT-org address. It appears to be used for email only.)

 

To be clear, we are not the only anti-fraud group identifying Brad Smith Chambers, Attorney at Law in the State of Tennessee (identified on: BradSmithChambers.com) as a fraud! Check out the many credible security and anti-fraud services that have also identified this website as a scam…..

But perhaps most importantly to us is what we’ve heard from our friend and professional scambaiter Rob! Since May, 2023 Rob has received six nearly identical emails from “Attorney Brad Smith” and referencing the website BradSmithChambers[.]com. (All of these emails are below.) Each of these emails was sent from a free Gmail account and NOT the business domain for this “attorney.” Also, Rob was also asked to contact Attorney Brad Smith through another email address that also didn’t point to either domain, bradsmithchambers[.]com or bradsmithchambers[.]org.  You may therefore think that we might be wrong in our assessment of this attorney’s website.  Is he just being falsely accused because some scammer is giving him a bad reputation. NO! In addition to the assessments listed above from 13 security/anti-fraud services, both Malwarebytes and Firefox have identified BradSmithChambers[.]com as a malicious website in the Fall of 2023. For example, Rob told us that Malwarebytes stopped him from visiting the site with a scam warning “Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead.”  Firefox also detected a potential security threat when Rob tried to visit the official website and it would not continue to bradsmithchambers[.]com. The Firefox warning included “If you visit this site, attackers could try to steal information like your passwords, emails, or credit card details.”

Let’s also evaluate some things about this Attorney’s website that are suspicious…..

  1. On the Contact Us page, Brad Smith Chambers offers an address in Houston, Texas but without any street. And yet, multiple pages on his site, including a “testimonial” published on the top page, say that his law firm is located in Tennessee. (Tennessee is also seen in the services they offer, such as Divorce and Family Law web page.)
  2. Rob provided us with screenshots to this fake lawyer’s website in 2023 and at that time he claimed to operate in Houston, Texas. He also stated at that time that he had been practicing law “all over the globe for over 3 Decades and counting….”  And yet, his website domain name was registered in late 2021 and the DOT-org domain was registered in 2020. Why wouldn’t he have a website in his name earlier?
  3. Currently, on his “Meet the Team” webpage there is only one photo, presumably of Brad Smith Chambers and no others.  There are no team members identified by name or photo. And yet, the text on the page literally begins with “Our attorneys are easy to reach, follow through on tasks, and don’t want to settle for less.”  AND “Our lawyers will listen to your concerns, research, and discuss your legal options, and target a plan to reach the greatest solution….”  What attorneys?! He lists none anywhere on his website.
  4. Brad Smith Chambers lists a contact phone number on his site in a very odd way…. +1(832)-378-6064 The interesting thing about this is that if you use Google to search for his number in the standard format of 832-378-6064 nothing turns up!  But if you search it exactly as he posts it, Google finds it, along with a post on ScamSurvivors.com about this fake law firm and also posted on ScamNumbers.blog

 

IMPORTANT NOTE: We **STRONGLY** suspect that the content found on bradsmithchambers[.]com was stolen from various other attorney’s websites because it is flawless and because we have repeatedly found that content, word for word, on other legitimate attorney’s websites, especially the website for Cobb Law Group. Content appears to be stolen from their website and also descriptions about their firm:

Who is Brad Smith Chambers?

The BradSmithChambers[.]com website shows an image more than once of an older man wearing glasses and assumed to be Brad Smith Chambers. However, a reverse image search in Google is unable to connect this image to anyone. Using Tineye.com, however, shows that this photo has been found multiple times on the ChamberofCommerce.com and Avvo.com websites.  Unfortunately, those photos are no longer there. Oddly, a few of the links to those photos appear to be associated with the names of other Attorneys…. “Francis Bass” and “Adam Dread.” But one thing is clear. TinEye.com is unable to associate that photo with the name Brad Smith Chambers!

Given the many security and antifraud services that have identified the website BradSmithChambers[.]com as a scam, and the other questions we’ve raised about the website and images found on it, we’re confident in our assessment that it is a complete fraud! Below you’ll find the scam emails sent to Rob by Attorney Brad Smith in the last 14 months. Though they were sent from a free Gmail account, they reference his website. The most recent email was July 14, 2024. The fraudster behind this website is still very active!
